Week 35 of Pregnancy

FACTS:

The baby’s skin is becoming more pink than red in colour and the toes and fingernails are now fully-grown. Your baby could well weigh 2.5kg or 5lbs.

Its eyes are well-developed now and are able to blink in response to strong light. If you stand with light directly on your stomach, it is likely that your baby will turn to face it.

TIPS:

Consider your energy levels and if you haven’t already, cut down on work. Continue with gentle exercise to maintain fitness levels for the birth. Snack on dried fruit, bananas or raisin toast to replenish your energy.

If your legs are cramping during the night try eating magnesium rich foods such as nuts, soya products and wholegrains to ease the discomfort. Massaging the area with upward strokes towards your heart will encourage circulation, particularly venous flow.

Australian Bush Flower Emergency Essence is a combination of six essences recommended for use during labour providing comfort in times of stress, fear or panic. It is also useful after a difficult labour.

Listen to your body. If you are really worried call your doctor, no matter how trivial your concern may seem.
