Ten years ago the only people who knew about the term ‘baby shower’ were Americans and American sitcom watchers. But the celebration has worked its way around the globe and has hit our shores will full velocity.

If the Berkeley is a little out the way then try emulating it at home – you could even hire a beauty therapist to come and pamper you and your guests. There are no fixed rules for a shower, you can have it wherever you like and do whatever you like. We probably wouldn’t recommend it but baby showers have been known to be held in bars and for a male stripper be a present! Whatever you fancy it should be a day that’s special for you.
